This event is for all incoming 6th grade students and students new to AC in grades 7-8. Students will run through a program to help them prepare for the first day of school. This will include getting to know their classmates and teachers, walking their schedules, and getting their assigned locker. Students will have a chance to ask questions, learn the physical layout of the school, and have fun with their peers.
This orientation is designed for 9th-grade students and all Upper School students who are new to AC. Students will be introduced to classmates, teachers, and staff to ensure a smooth transition into the Upper School. Students will participate in a program that will make them more comfortable with their schedule for the year, locker assignments, and getting to know the AC campus. They will all have a chance to ask questions of their peers and teachers to make sure they are ready for the first day of school.
Happy first day of school. Parents, please plan on extra time for drop-off and pick-up as it always a little more busy on the first couple days of school.
14 colleges and universities will visit AC as part of the Rochester Area Colleges (RAC) College Fair. All Upper School students will attend the College Fair to learn about the various college options in the Rochester area.
The format for the night is "Open House" style, so after a short welcome at 6:00 p.m. in the Dining Commons, students will be walking their parents/guests around to all of their classes. Teachers will be in their classrooms and available to tell you more about our program and their curriculum. Parents are welcome to visit all of the teachers or just a few, and you are welcome to stay for the whole two hours and really explore or just visit for the time you have.
Once a month the Nursery and Pre-K students wear a specific color or pattern as they learn about different colors, shapes and patterns in their classrooms. Please join us in helping our youngest students celebrate the color or pattern of the month and wear what's specified in the calendar listing above!
This event is an opportunity for you to meet your child(ren’s) teacher(s), and to find out more about AC’s programs at each grade level. Specialist teachers and our Student Support Team will also be available in the Dining Commons to share more about the exciting programs they offer throughout the year too! **AC will be providing childcare for this event.**
