Progress reports represent the halfway point in the semester. Progress reports will be available to view on MyACS on November 3rd. Your conference with teachers will provide you with context regard student progress. Conferences will take place on Thursday, November 2nd after school and all day on Friday, November 3rd. There will be no classes on that Friday, so we can meet with as many parents and students as possible between Thursday after school and the full day Friday. Students are welcome to come along to join their parents at the conferences, although it is not mandatory. Each parent will have about 12 minutes with each teacher, and this is a great opportunity to hear how your students are doing. This year we are offering both in-person and Zoom conference options for your convenience. As a reminder, conferences will take place during the following dates and times:
Junior High Area All-State is a New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) festival with auditioned vocal and instrumental ensembles for students currently in grades 7-9. Allendale Columbia School is sending two student representatives, one to the Mixed Chorus and one to the Treble Chorus, as a result of their high scoring performances on last year's NYSSMA Solo Festivals.

• Hold space to identify issues relevant to and through the lens of group participants
• Build capacity for cross group dialogue and more inclusive spaces
• Connect issues relevant to the groups to the larger community
The affinity groups are not intended to imply that all families share the same experience. Rather, the groups provide the opportunity for reflection, dialogue, and support, and the capacity to build more inclusive spaces.

Once a month the Nursery and Pre-K students wear a specific color or pattern as they learn about different colors, shapes and patterns in their classrooms. Please join us in helping our youngest students celebrate the color or pattern of the month and wear what's specified in the calendar listing above!
Sixth graders will be going to beautiful Corbett's Glen on the afternoon of November 16. The objective of the trip is to strengthen individual relationships as well as help the group have ownership over their class identity. Fresh air and the last of Fall's sunshine will be the bonus!
In this one-act adaptation of Shakespeare’s comedy, five players in a traveling clown troupe wake up one morning to discover that they have been abandoned by the other members of the company. That evening they are required to perform A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM before the local Squire and they have to madly re-invent the play so that it can be done with fewer clowns. Join us for our first MS play, as our How It's Made: Theatre Edition students take on Shakespeare! Tickets: $5 acstheatre.ludus.com

AC's Thanks & Giving Day is a 24-hour extravaganza dedicated to expressing gratitude. Consider making a donation in honor of that special faculty or staff member who made a lasting impact on your AC journey. Our school community is what makes AC truly exceptional, and your contribution not only acknowledges their efforts but also ensures that future generations can benefit from the same outstanding education.
Please join us at our first parent DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging) meeting of the school year on Wednesday, November 29th at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. Learn more about AC initiatives and provide input on how AC can continue to strive to become a more equitable and welcoming school community.
Below are some questions to facilitate our meeting. Please feel free to provide us with any feedback directly if you are unable to attend the first meeting.
What AC DEIB initiatives are you currently aware of?
Do you feel welcome at AC to discuss Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Initiatives?
If Yes, what/how do you feel welcome?
If No, what could the school do differently that would make you feel welcome?
How does AC ask you to be involved in DEIB school-based initiatives?
Regarding important DEIB school-based initiatives at AC, what would you like us to know that’s important to your family?
We appreciate you considering these questions ahead of time in preparation for a robust discussion during our meeting.
Thank you,
Delta Keith P’26, P’38, Melody Wollgren P’33, P’35 and The PACK DEIB Committee
