Parents meet with grade level teachers to discuss their hopes and dreams (expectations) for their child's year ahead. K-5 Teachers are scheduling individual meeting times with parents.
This event is for all incoming 6th grade students and students new to AC in grades 7-8. Students will run through a program to help them prepare for the first day of school. This will include getting to know their classmates and teachers, walking their schedules, and getting their assigned locker. Students will have a chance to ask questions, learn the physical layout of the school, and have fun with their peers.
This orientation is designed for 9th-grade students and all Upper School students who are new to AC. Students will be introduced to classmates, teachers, and staff to ensure a smooth transition into the Upper School. Students will participate in a program that will make them more comfortable with their schedule for the year, locker assignments, and getting to know the AC campus. They will all have a chance to ask questions of their peers and teachers to make sure they are ready for the first day of school.
Happy first day of school. Parents, please plan on extra time for drop-off and pick-up as it always a little more busy on the first couple days of school.
The format for the night is "Open House" style, so after a short welcome at 6:00 p.m. in the Dining Commons, students will be walking their parents/guests around to all of their classes. Teachers will be in their classrooms and available to tell you more about our program and their curriculum. Parents are welcome to visit all of the teachers or just a few, and you are welcome to stay for the whole two hours and really explore or just visit for the time you have.
Once a month the Nursery and Pre-K students wear a specific color or pattern as they learn about different colors, shapes and patterns in their classrooms. Please join us in helping our youngest students celebrate the color or pattern of the month and wear what's specified in the calendar listing above!
This will be a dress down day. Every AC student in grades 1-12 will be assigned to the Blue Team or the White Team and should dress in their team color that day. (Team color assignments will be shared with families closer to Homecoming Weekend.) Students in grades 1-12 will then enjoy a fun-filled field day, and our Little School, AC3s, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten students will come out and cheer on both the blue and white teams! Please be sure students wear sneakers on this day.
The entire AC community of students, families and alums, are invited to join us on Saturday, September 28th starting at 12pm. There will be inflatable games, face painting, pumpkin painting, a bake sale and raffles. Our school store, the Wolf Den, will also be open! You can pre-order wristbands for all the children's activities HERE, they will also be available to purchase at the event. Food trucks will be on campus starting at noon!
