Weekend Workshops

Welcome to AC's Weekend Workshops

Our workshops are a great way to explore a hobby, make new friends, or beat the winter blues. All Weekend Workshops are open to the public, so be sure to invite your friends!

Explore our upcoming workshops below!

December 10th

Jewelry Making for the Holidays
10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Cost: $75/person (includes materials, lesson, lunch, gift wrapping)
Ages: K - Grade 12

Need a gift for the Holidays? Design and make your own jewelry with Siomara Lorenzo, Lower School Spanish Teacher at Allendale Columbia! In this weekend workshop, a few of the projects you can choose from are painted wooden earrings, macrame earrings, themed faux leather tassel earrings, polymer clay bracelets and necklaces, and more!

Once all your creations have been brought to life, we will gift wrap them in festive gift bags and beautiful bows!

Registration for this event is now closed.

January 21st

Snowshoe Saturday with Mrs. King
1 - 3 p.m.
Cost: $40 (includes snowshoes)
Ages: Pre-K - Grade 5

Do you enjoy snowshoeing and being out in nature? Or have you always wanted to try snowshoeing but haven’t yet? Join educator Annie King on the nature trails at AC as you look for animal tracks and create your own! After trudging through the snowy pathways, warm up with our hot cocoa bar!

This event will take place snow or shine! Since Rochester weather can be unpredictable, we will plan to take a winter nature hike and enjoy some hot cocoa, even if there is no snow. Bring your own snowshoes or borrow some of ours!

Registration for this event is now closed.

March 4th

STEM-stravaganza!
1 - 3 p.m.
Cost: $40 per family
Ages: Pre-K - Grade 5

Join Middle School STEM Instructor & Interim Co-Director of the Center for STEM and Innovation, Teresa Parsons, for a STEM-filled afternoon where families can work together on STEM experiments and projects in the AC Dining Commons. You can build geodesic designs with marshmallows & toothpicks, blow up balloons from a chemical reaction between baking soda and vinegar, execute sink or float experiments, learn about chromatography, or partake in “penny plastic surgery” -- what cleans a penny better, and more!

Registration for this event is now closed.
