Information for New Families

MyACS School Portal
MyACS is our school's online portal. It is a one-stop-shop for all AC-related information, including student schedules, grade reports, news, calendars, and more. Be sure to bookmark this page and remember your password as you will need to reference it throughout the year! You can also easily access MyACS by clicking the shortcut link on our homepage.

Emergency Communications
In the event of a snow day or an emergency on campus, Allendale Columbia School will communicate with families via School Messenger. Please text "Y" to 67587 to opt-in to receive emergency text notifications. Also, please be sure to have your cell phone listed as your primary contact in MyACS to ensure you receive emergency calls.

Transportation
Coming soon: 2024-2025 Days Districts Will Not Provide Transportation
Most districts request that transportation forms be completed by April 1st. Please contact your home district to make sure you are all set with transportation, if you plan on using your district's bus service. Additional drop off and pick up information can be found here.

Health Forms
A Health Appraisal and Immunization form must be completed by your pediatrician and sent to the Admissions Office (fax 585.249.0230) prior to your child/ren's first day of school.

Rainbow Room (AC3s - Grade 5)
2024-2025 Rainbow Room
Rainbow Room is AC's wrap around care for families of children in AC3s - Grade 5 who are interested in childcare after the regular school day (available from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.) and/or vacation day care. Please note vacation days are not included in the after school care package. Please create an account with Campsite to register. Once you have created an account and are on the dashboard, please click "enrollment" on the left side and scroll down to your child(ren). You will be given a list of Rainbow Room options for the full year and vacation days. They are listed in alphabetical order. If you have any questions or concerns please contact bwheeler@allendalecolumbia.org. 

Academic Calendar
2024-2025 Important Dates Calendar
This calendar includes the start and end dates for the academic year, as well as school breaks and conference days. Please be aware that these dates are final, but there may be other days AC is closed that we are unaware of at this time. For the most up-to-date information, please be sure to read your monthly Division Head emails and regularly check the MyACS calendar.

New AC Little School Families
2024-2025 Little School Calendar
All families who are new to the AC Little School must complete and submit the documents in the new family packet before their first day.

Dress Code
  • AC3s & Pre-K: No formal dress code is required. Clothing and shoes appropriate for school and active, outdoor play is recommended. Shorts and denim are acceptable.

  • Lower School: Navy, blue, white, and khaki dress code. You can visit landsend.com/school and type in Allendale Columbia's school number (900085473) for a helpful reference, but you are not required to purchase from Lands' End.

  • Middle & Upper School: The dress code allows options from casual to professional. We trust students, with faculty and family guidance, to dress appropriately for different situations. For a typical school day, students may choose relaxed and comfortable clothing, or more professional dress if they prefer. For a presentation or a field trip, students may be required to dress more professionally. On the other hand, community service or outdoor activities may call for more casual, active clothes. At all times, students should dress in a way that shows respect to others and to themselves. 

  • Students enjoy AC Spirit Day the last Friday of each month. On Spirit Day, they may wear jeans with an Allendale Columbia School top or school colors.

Each year, we create a new student slideshow to help faculty and staff get to know our new students before the first day of school. This is not required, but we would love to include a recent picture of your child(ren)! If you wish to participate, please send your photo to jbarrett@allendalecolumbia.org.

Summer Fun
New and Returning families are invited to spend the morning at AC, playing games and getting to know their classmates. Please join us at one of our meet ups! No need to RSVP, just find us on the playground :) If it is actively raining, the play date will be cancelled.
